Arlington, Va. – Freedom Partners Action Fund, a free-market Super PAC, is launching a new TV ad in Louisiana as part of its multi-million dollar campaign holding Senator Mary Landrieu accountable for her Obamacare deception and broken promises. The ad includes recently uncovered videos that show the law’s chief architect, economist Jonathan Gruber, candidly describing the level of deception that went into drafting and passing the law.
Gruber said that a “lack of transparency” and “the stupidity of the American voter” was critical to getting Obamacare passed. Meanwhile, Sen. Landrieu has said that she would vote for the law again.
Sen. Landrieu sold Obamacare on the promise that if Louisianans liked their health care plans, they could keep their plans. Now, Louisianans are being hit with skyrocketing health care premiums – some up to 53 percent – and 62,000 individuals have faced canceled plans.
Freedom Partners Action Fund Spokesman James Davis issued the following statement:
“Thanks to newly uncovered video footage of Obamacare’s chief architect Jonathan Gruber, Americans recently learned what we always suspected: Obamacare was an unpopular idea packaged to deceive us, and President Obama, Sen. Landrieu and their allies thought Americans were too dumb to know otherwise. After 18 lackluster years of failed leadership and broken promises – it’s time for Landrieu to go.”
